Why we fell in love with Oban
Establishing a new hotel involves a lot of important decisions. Perhaps the most important of these is location. We knew we wanted somewhere beautiful that would live up to the high standards of sustainability as well as an incredible destination packed full of exciting things to do. Following on from our amazing hotels on Skye, as soon as we visited Oban we knew we’d found our next destination.
Seafood capital of Scotland
It’s no secret that we absolutely love seafood and our location overlooking the harbour is simply the perfect fit. We want our hotel to be as sustainable as possible so being able to source fresh, local ingredients was an absolute must. With such a wide array of sumptuous seafood available nearby this was an opportunity too good to miss!
A visit to Oban is a chance to breathe in the crisp, fresh Scottish air and soak up the incredible views that surround our hotel. Knowing that Scotland is a place filled with adventure, we had a fantastic chance to take the road less travelled to Oban. The countryside is beautiful and the views from the hills are incredible – we couldn’t recommend it more! Just a short distance from our hotel are chances to explore hidden depths with scuba diving (a rare opportunity in the UK – we were very impressed). You can also climb to amazing heights in the Cairngorm mountain range or on the Isle of Mull nearby. The air feels cleaner, the landscapes are amazing. We fell in love with this place straight away.
A gateway to the Isles
Oban is the perfect place for an adventure, and it has always been our dream to build a home away from home so people can discover Scotland for themselves. Oban is the “Gateway to the Isles” so just a short ferry ride away you will find the Isles of Mull, Iona, Coll, and Uist. The remote islands offer exquisite views and an unrivalled tranquility all within easy reach of our hotel.
What strikes us most about this wonderful town is that everywhere we look there is a new opportunity. Oban is surrounded by natural wonders and the town itself is so full of character that we just could not stay away. We love it here and we hope you will too.
